Don't need to look at the bikes, Mick Doohan's helmet tells me this isn't from the black & white era Mike Hughes and SteveT are so fond of smile

I was following this thread with interest (noticing how my modern japanese bikes are of no interest LOL) and I think I'm getting a clearer picture of what people here say when referring to Morgan owners as motorcyclists. Of course the posters here were few but I get the feeling that Morgan lovers also love motorcycles (keeping them; restoring them) but aren't necessarily "bikers" in the sense that don't use a bike (or motorbike, not sure what term to use) in their everyday life.

I suppose the fact that I get bike-compatible weather in my country about 95% of any given year's days helps (I do ride my bike everyday, rain or shine, the entire year, but I'm not sure I'd do it in higher latitudes).

Anyway, I think my biker experience will help me with the M3W. As I've been saying to the mrs., while preparing her for the "journey" on the Brooklands 3W, if she was brave enough - many years ago - to come up with me from Lisbon to Inverness and back in the FJ1200, she will have no problems with a much shorter journey (considering the ferries) on a bike ... with seats and seatbelts laugh2

Mike, a nice special.. NorVelo? How did it handle? Should be good. Based on what I can see your pal will do a great job of the VMT, he's obviously well aware of all the Velo foibles (they have even more than Morgans!)

I had Rays son, Kevin make up a belt drive for my KSS... Using Kevlar clutch plates etc..He's a clever chap and you are right he builds some lovely special parts and a 600 racer., some really nice machine work.

Calum, good photo, looking very professional!

Mario, I wouldn't assume Mike and I are typical of the 'morgan bikers'.

I would hazard a guess though that few morgan owners have bikes for daily use in the uk, for pleasure yes but not much else. ( might be totally wrong)

I've never driven a 3 wheeler, something even closer to a motorcycle than my 4/4 in several aspects I'm thinking.

Nothing wrong with Japanese bikes either.. But I personally love the Velo for its engineering quirkiness and good old fashioned traditional quirkiness. Maybe same reason I have a Morgan?

Okay, found out! Have had a rake about and found another very faded colour print of me in action.

Nice thread!

I`m a motorcycle enthusiast, too, and like bikes with big V2 Engines:

1946 Indian Chief

1992 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail

Your Velocettes are very beautiful, great machines!
Fantastic racing picture, Calum!

The B&W shot was at Knockhill, can't remember for sure which meeting but may well have been the Supercup on an RGV250 in Supersport 400. The colour one is at the Manx GP on a CBR600 in the Junior Newcomers.
