Off on hols today- so last night thought I might just take a short blast out of Reading along the A33 across to Hook then up an empty A30 returning through the back roads.
The sun was sinking - the revs rising - a perfect drive.
Now to spend a week or so in my old friend the Series 2a Landrover down in Devon!!
Drove my M3W to dealer and front mudguards sheared on approach. Traded in for a new 4/4. Nice drive home but very underpowered. I am assured it will loosen up in a thousand miles. Might need induction and exhaust. A heater and a roof plus doors. Surely that will never catch on! 77 years of 4/4.
2022 Plus Four, 2023 Super Three, Range Rover Vogue SDV8 and Triking T3.
Went to Revolutions in Perth for the yearly service and a couple of little niggling things. Saw an M3W and a BMW there which belonged to a certain TMer. Apparently Russell is not really nuts about the BMW. Kimberley provided multitudinous cups of coffee, a sandwich at lunch and several chocolate biscuits. All folk there very friendly and knowledgeable. (usual disclaimers)
I used to use Thomson & Potter in Burrelton as that was where I bought my first +8. At the time Revolutions weren't a Mog dealer and now Thomson & Potter is a Skoda dealer.
Went up via A9 to get there in time and returned via the A811 to keep off the Mways. Drizzling most of the way.
An early morning 46km round trip up to North Narrabeen (Sydney's northern beaches, aka God's country!) for breakfast at a German cafe.
Chilly to start with - about 5 degrees and windy - there is snow on the Blue Mountains, but not a cloud in the sky.
Early enough on the way out to avoid the dreaded Saturday traffic and managed to avoid being wiped out by a Landcruiser changing lanes at the lights without signalling.
About 10 degrees on the way back - a cold day for Sydney.
