Sunday was no day for driving a Mog on the Motorway!

The two guys from MMC left Malvern at 5 am Sunday to get to Wilton at 8, they made it at 8.40. Seems it wasn't at all enjoyable and they were very glad they had left the M3W behind.
Even so the poor person driving the one with the "Traditional" hood got a bit wet....

Aldermog will get new rubber this autumn: I'm thinking seriously of fitting these:
All Weather Rubber

As you say, the wider Roadster tyres need some help shifting water.

Well I left Prescott at 3:30 and out to the M5 at 4:00, cruised down it at around 70 all the way and it was dry to the Taunton junction, but was windy with strong head wind, put hood down there and drove home in sunshine. So I presume they hit a down poor. I also went up early Sunday in rain and got to Cheltenham in 1.75 hour and it was wet. Any tyre will be challenged with standing water, but some will give more grip than others due to tread pattern when cornering, the Vredesteins are probably one of the best for a Morgan. Mine has Avon VZ5's which are not too bad. cheers I got home at 6 by the way.

350 mile round trip to my daughters wedding, 170miles in the RAIN M50/M6/M5/M42 A38, just a nice drip drip drip of water onto my right boot Ahh reminds me of my Landrover defender ! Otherwise the car now looks like my old defender ( FILTHY) so deep clean to follow.
But it was dry (and sunny ) for the wedding !

The only fly in the ointment was a Serious RTA on the A50 ( Lorry Crash) and Derby County playing at home.
That Grid locked Derby
The last hour of the Journey ( Solihull to Derby
normally takes 1hr as its just 50miles..........It took 3.5hrs)

I was trying to get to Elveston Castle Park Church !!!

I got to the Church with 30secs to spare to take my daughter up the isle!
Having abandoned the Morgan top down and all presents on the back seat into the care of a couple in the park who looked after the car whilst we ran across the park to the church.

We treated the couple and their kids to Ice creams when we got out. They loved the Morgan & it was much photographed whilst we were at the ceremony

Phew good old "Little Jeannie" never missed a beat ;-)

Well done Steve. Close or what ! If you travel the M50 regularly, look out for a green 4/4 on the Ross bound carriageway any time after 1pm.

(It'll be me on my journey home, avoiding the bridge toll !)

I'm beginning to think I don't have a proper Morgan as so far in 12 months ownership I have not yet got wet whilst driving in the rain.

Does anyone know how to restore the essential features?

Good run through the mountains to the south of Alcañiz down to Valencia today. One eagle I saw was so big at first glance I thought it was a para-glider!

Indeed the way down south was to be quick and I didn't want to use the motorway, which is pointless with vMog. The Auto-train really is a good option.

However, I will be posting photos and proposing scenic drives as I am slowly driving my way back to Calais happy3
Trip started in Toulon, then Aix en Provence, Marseille, Nîmes, Uzès, Alès, and Clermont-Ferrand as of now drive

Cheers,
V
