Does anyone else have trouble in unlocking a locked door from the inside?
If the door is locked I find it impossible to open it unless I get out and use the key in the outside lock.
I've tried moving the little catch up and down and brute force on the handle, but still it won't open. Same issue on both doors.
Am I missing some trick?

Hi Adrian, I believe that is how the door locks work.
The key lock is separate to the latch and it means that if you lock the door with the key from the outside, someone would have to climb over the door to get in.

I had door handles fitted because in the winter with the roof up,when it's throwing it down, I couldn't get sufficient purchase on the side screens to open them and reach inside to open the door. Have to admit I have never locked the doors or even tried to use the key.

They are not connected. So either will lock the door.

When I leave the motor unattended, I always lock the doors with the key, for insurance purposes.

If I lock the doors with the key the only way to unlock them is with the key, the latch doesn't unlock them.

If I'm leaving the car somewhere public I tend to lock the doors, even with the hood down, simply because of the stories I've heard about members of the public sitting in cars to have photos taken.

I usually put the storm cover on, which will baffle most casual punters. You need a degree in table cloth management to stand a chance.

If I leave the car in a public place I nearly always lock the doors with the key. I have, on some occassions locked the passenger door from the inside and the driver's door with the key. If the hood is down I use the storm cover and I sometimes use the storm cover if the hood is up and I have luggage in the car. If things in the car can't be seen there is less temptation.

The door catches/locks seem very similar to the ones on the Land Rover Defender. If so the two locks are completely separate. The outer lock locks the outer handle and the inner lock locks the inner handle. You can lock both......
