Pretty well - its a very different mounting to the previous version.

The Mk1 BBox is bolted straight onto the chassis.

The Mk2 sits in a cradle with rubber mounts fore and aft - its quite a substantial module - and takes out a lot of the vibration and noise from the BBox. Altogether a much better solution.

It can be retro fitted to pre 14 cars - and IMO - is a good idea...having wrestled with the Mk1 gloomy

But, if the BB is still lubricated with gloop and/or put together with large tolerances, won't it still whine and be heard, no matter how well it is mounted?

Seems to me it's just a matter of luck with the BB , my Sept 12 car has been fine from day one and is now coming up to 13000 miles with no noise or problems . I had the new mounting when I had the replacement chassis but couldn't detect any diffence .

After almost 12,000 miles on an original BB, with new lube and no mounting bushings or whatever, it still whines a bit. Along with the transmission, the odd noises out of the cush block, the sound of the exhaust and the constant noise of the valves along with the belt singing, it all makes a great contribution to the chorus! Cue the wind! Since I added the Muscle Air filter I've also been subjected to more of an inrushing noise as it gulps more air and is verbal about it!

At this damn point, what really worries me is NOT hearing something doing what it's supposed to do!

I really envy those who can plug in their headphones and be blissfully unaware of their surroundings but I for one really want to know when something fails and sometimes all the warning one gets is the silence...

This comes from habit as well as driving a tractor and doing stuff. Sometimes all the warning I would get was utter silence at the wrong possible moment!

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

If its making a noise you know its still there and working, if its quiet it has probably broken of fallen off!
