I was keen to buy SHMBO an SLK a few years back

This was politely resisted. She was keen on a Fiat 500, before the Abarth was available locally. A test drive ruled out the rather tinny F500.

However the Cooper S filled the bill and as a model changeover was happening an attractive price was quickly negotiated on a BRG model, white roof and twin white bonnet stripes - very Cooper!

It's turned out to be a popular purchase - for both of us!

Seriously I was having a close look at one on Wednesday's driving school, they kind of grow on you over a period of time. Is the boot much bigger than the Z3?

My problem with the SLK is the lack of boot space when the lid is in the stowed position...

Replacing the TT G. I fancied another hairdresser car with a manual box.....I didn't really get on with the dual clutch jobbie in the TT. And the roof down Zed is more posey as well laugh2

As Phillip says, the boot is not big, but surpringly long...you can get two sets of golf clubs in...not that I want to. But for me it's big enough....I mean I am use to a Morgan!

And yes....it's white but not from Essex! And funnily enough, I lost less in part ex than I did on my 4/4!

Noted. But then your TT doesn't have a cracked windscreen, or lots of aftemarket mods...
Enjoy the Z4 smile

The answer is the SL...
Much bigger boot and the folded roof lifts up when you open the boot. It is a suitable car for a Gentleman...

Hmm, I had a quick nose around Autotrader and thought "If I'm going back to this sort of money, I might as well go back to looking for an XK8..."
Thanks for the idea though smile

To paraphrase Lady Bracknell in the Importance of Being Earnest - 'A BOOT!!!???' ooo

Build quality, comfort, reliability, no leaks, low maintenance. Surely just a passing fad!!

But seriously Philip enjoy the SLK it is a very desirable car (so my wife keeps reminding me).

Whilst I was looking for a mog my optician was trying to persuade me to buy a DB7 via
aston

I did drive one but smile factor was not as high as a mog, he moved from a plus8 to a DB7..... Plus I had owned a mog before so new what I was getting into or I thought I did innocent

Yeah...the Japanese car didn't have a space for my hairdryer and curler kit. Also the dealers were completely indifferent to getting a car available for a road test. I gave them a couple of days chance then went elsewhere. Their loss.

GT86 G. Might have been fun in the handling department!

Whatever I chose it would have to be my daily driver. Interesting that the Honda is, its high revving engine would eventually drive me nuts!
