Thanks for the comments fellow Morganeers! Particulary the experience on the easy fitting. As labor cost was a significant part of the price estimate. Submitted pm to Andy.
To me Vibrations through the chasis and radiator mountings seems a more realitic degradation scenario leading to the radiator crack then the mentioned flexing hoses, which -as Aldermog says - are quite long. I would not (yet) swap to more flexible ones. Perhaps the warm-cold cycle is a contributing factor?

Quick update, thanks to input forum, and discussion wt dealer, Mulfab aluminium radiator on order and hours estimate for work more realistic. Kind regards, BertR
