Just a thought . Get hold of the rear end of your exhaust and give it a good pull just to see if its not a bracket that gives a vibration at a certain angle . Just sorted mine out as it only came on at certain times

Thanks a lot fellers for all your suggestions and good advice. I got the front end of the car up on a steep driveway which gave me crawl space under the area that I need to have a look at. There was nothing untoward to be seen. So I am none the wiser however I am happier now that I can see that there is no major damage. I will contact the Morgan dealer in Lisbon and see if they can have a look at it. Thanks Again Tim Hello Tim,
When I holed my sump the Gearbox Engine Mounting ( located on top of the Cross Member Hump) Sheared Off very easily and the two Front Mountings distorted preventing a new Gear Box Mounting being fitted. I had to have all three replaced.
The front edge of the Bell Housing is probably what you hit? It is just a few mm lower than the Cross Member.
It sounds as though yours has sheared. But it is difficult to see it without putting the car up on a ramp and trying to lift the bell housing. It is very lucky that the Sump did not go.
The rear end of the Engine also holed the Brake Master Cylinder so also check there for any damage. Mine also needed to be replaced.
I hope this helps Frank

Tinpot
It would interesting to have some feedback on this when it's sorted. Hope it's not too serious/expensive.

On my Roadster S1 we hit the grarbox mounting not the sump on a ferry but at very low speed & with no resulting issues.
I now have the Mulfab sump.
I have a steep drive and the gearbox mount hits driving up hill to one of the two garages.
As others have said get uder & check it out
