does anyone know the correct way to open the engine covers. i keep breaking the pins. do you open the front or rear catch first.

put too much pressure on them, they are very tight. i have broken 2 already tried 2 open today to fit an optimate on the battery but couldnt open. i was frightened to put too much pressure incase they broke again.

I think its a case of getting the hang of it... I was really struggling with it at first,especially the front catch, but once you mastered the technique, its a doddle.

Sounds like you have (or more likely someone else) has over tightened the inner side of the latch...
The springs are not too stong as long as the mechanism is not over-tightened.
Try loostening the nut on the inner side of the wing where the spring is and testing the slide... if it's too stiff you've gone too far tightening it up.

Hello all
I was told by a Morgan dealer many years for my +8 to do rear catch first (closest to driver) then front catch.
Suspect recommendation would be same on Aero.

ps whilst on subject of bonnet opening any idea if anyone has or is close to producing a stainless steel strut support kit? I currently use two 1m lengths of round doweling to support bonnet open!

There is a kit.. although off the top of my head I can't remember who makes it...
You have to bend to your car same as the trad version.
