Not infrequently and often quite rightly the motor trade comes under considerable criticism, bad customer service, over pricing, shoddy workmanship etc etc. I thought therefore fellow TMers may be interested in my little story.

I've been out on a number of high miles runs In the last several weeks and the front suspension was well overdue for greasing. Unfortunately for reasons I can't explain I've developed a very painful back pain and just couldn't face crawling around on a cold hard garage floor to do the job myself nor did I really want to make the 100 mile round trip to Allon Whites to do it (brilliant dealers though they are). So I went into my local village garage and sort there help. They couldn't have been more helpful and basically did the job for me there and then and would take no payment other than a few photos to put on their cool wall. They were clearly delighted to work on the Morgan and everyone wanted to have a look at it. A great service and good to know I can get help from them in the future.

The garage in question is 'Favells Garage' of Countesthorpe Leicester.

I think that, as good as the official Morgan dealers can be, any good workshop should be able to do most, if not all jobs on any Morgan, in fact, most owners can do most of the jobs themselves, bad backs allowing of course.

Great that Favells wouldn't take any payment. Customer service like that is just so old fashioned. They deserve the big 'up'. [Modern day speak for praise apparently!]

Nice one, plus you need the suspension for all the speed bumps in Countesthorpe these days! (I lived there from 1975 to 1991)

Looking for another Morgan!
