If I was bothered by this problem I would be inclined to pop a 5mm hole in the back of each gauge to equalise the internal to external temperatures more readily, thus avoiding the condensation. Simples...

No idea whether the GDI has conventional bulbs or LEDs in the instruments but I can confirm the dials mist up in exactly the same way as my previous Morgan's.

Misting in instruments is one of our bug bears with the older design instruments, several things have been tried over the years including sachets of silicon to absorb moisture , coatings that are applied to the inside of the glass and several other ideas, the base problem is that the gauge is not sealed and if it were it would have to be sealed with air of zero humidity inside, with air of the humidity that occurs this time of year inside when the gauge is activated through the movements and the illumination, heat is created, the air inside then condenses against the cooler walls of the instrument, either the case or the glass, because glass takes longer to heat than the case because of its thermal conductivity the problem usually exhibits itself there.
We have cured the problems over the years by using instrument movements that do not generate heat ie using stepper motors and LED illumination, the current 3 in 1 is of an older design, we are working on a design to change this and will take the design to Morgan shortly.

MANAGING DIRECTOR I was wondering why it is always only the gauge with the 3 minor gauges that mists up. Now I get it (or think I do) it is presumably the greater heat generated by the three coils driving the individual instruments compared to the single coil (or more modern movement) in the speedo and rev counter ? If anyone has a more informed explanation I'd be interested as it is one of those annoying little conundrums that it would be nice to lay to rest !

I was told by MMC - the usual - they all do that!. It clears after a drive with heater on and clears completely in the Summer.
"90MPH officer?!! - sorry my speedo was misted up!" do you think it could be an advantage.
(It was SPEEDO - no"S" on it before you lot start to comment!)

Simples... I did........., but no effect! That's a pity Ruut I thought that had a chance of improving things. Oh no I can see a system of ducted heater output making it's way up to the instruments through a series of piping any minute now.

Have been redirected to this thread... seems I am not alone at least! My worry ios that this is a recent phenomenon for me after a very wet Classis Le Mans drive and very wet 100 miles on the M4 not long agao - it is now quite severe and I would guess clearly linked to driving in the rain those times. If it's not causing damage I can live with it, but my dial faces were bespoke made for me at Allon White's and I'd hate to mess them up

I suppose drilling a hole doesn't stop moisture condensing on the colder glass
