Sorry forget to mention the car does look awesome, I do like the stripes with the green, I would not have thought of putting those colors together but it looks great, also the Tonneau cover colour looks good, mine is black and doesn't look as good, Congrats on the car, you will fall in love as I have when you drive it.
It appears that S&S recommend an oil change after 300 miles to get rid of the swarf that may be in the engine, then another one around the 1000 miles figure, after that probably every 3000. Excessive maybe, but for the cost of the oil and a half an hours work, probably worth doing, especially if one plans to keep the car for a while.
Have I missed something somewhere then, as I understood it the first service is due at 1000 miles, I have been running motorcycles for years and unlike cars they do have an oil change at anywhere between 600 and 1000 miles or 3 months, why would you need to change the oil 3 times below 1000 miles when that's not what the factory recommend. My car is currently at morgan for its first service at 1000 miles, I have not changed the oil before this, however both exhausts have cracked, the front crank oil seal has gone, I have an electrical fault so the indicators don't work and the Bevel box/rear drivetrain has become noisy, In conclusion shouldn't worry too much about the oil mate it wont be a problem :-)
Now THAT made me laugh..!
Sardonic humour under pressure. Love it & good luck..

Talked to a number of bikers with S&S power plants. The beginning is important, as with any engine. Most are going with 5,000 mile intervals as the synthetic oil holds up really well. With the added capacity of the Morgan, 6 liters vs 4 liters, we should be doing very nice indeed. If I was living in the Southwestern united States with blistering temps I may shorten that to 3,000 miles. I remember the first oil change and removing the plug at the bottom of the block. There is a magnet there to catch any metallic debris and it was very clean. Most impressive.
I completely agree what with all the other problems that may, and have, crept up the oil change dialog is a bit moot. It's a good engine.
Every thing else is the tricky part...
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
I drained the oil twice from the hoses.i never tried the plug at the bottom...do you think i might get any debris? I got No spare gaskets, should i take the risk?

Thank you! I'm loving it so far. Been looking at it more than driving it, though. What a beautiful machine.

This is no problem. There is a small rubber/silicone gasket around the plug but it cleans up very well. Any debris you find will be unusual. These motors are made well and the machining is superb. This is not like a Soviet tank from the 80's where they allowed for a kilo of metal bits and shavings falling through during the first oil change!
