I have a friend who also wanted to name his jet black dog after Guy Gibson's.
In the end he named it 'Ginger' !

We had a black rabbit called regin....
Also had a cat that was always under your feet in South Africa so we called it Cooking Fat...

Our Roadster became known as Aldermog, a name contrived from the name of the village where we live and Mog... The Plus 8 seems to have become "George", from George Brown MP, famed for making a lot of noise but achieving little. But  doesn't like the name. So, what name will stick? I don't know. When we get the car home perhaps something will come to mind. I was thinking of "Goldie", after the colour and Goldie Hawn, the actress. We shall have to wait and see...

This is a topic that comes up every so often.
I had in mind to call ours Minerva, but she didn't seem to like it and wanted to be called Vanessa. Alis doesn't like Vanessa so she remains unnamed.

We called the M3W the Mogster...and its name has now been adopted by the 4/4

well the Lotus just had to be Lottie didnt it? The family Merc gets referred to as the Panzerwagen. My wife's Smart Roadster is the Rollerskate because that just about sums it up.
The problem one was the boat which is a Starlight 35. I wanted to call it Twinkle but the racing crew rebelled. We dont wear sweaters with the boat names on, but I think thats the possibility that was worrying them. Big burley ex plod who does the foredeck walkning around Cardiff with Twinkle emblazened across his chest!
Mind you its original name was M***** Sue called that after the first owners then wife whose maiden name was Sue M****. When the second wife came along the boat had to go! It came to me with 6 sweaters with eht M**** Sue bit across the back. Should imagine those led to some interesting comments.

Surely that should be Bronzie. My old 1968 mini cooper was called Linda (Deep throaty exhaust). My mk1 Golf GTI was called Rod (as in hot rod) I once had a Peugeot 504 truck called Lester Pickup My current Transit is called Sylvain (from silver van). My wife calls my TVR "The tart trap" My Morgan doesn't have an official name as such, usually referred to as as The Morgan or The Mog,
Giles. Mogless in Paris.
