Also found some disagreement on the web about oil changes. BMW state that the box needs no servicing: ZF state a 50,000 mile change is needed, and more often if the box gets hot. The fluid is unique to ZF. Otherwise it seems to be virtually unburstable.
The box is fading from use as it isn't able to work with "stop/start systems", the new ZF 9 Speed box....
