This is a topic that comes up every so often.
I had in mind to call ours Minerva, but she didn't seem to like it and wanted to be called Vanessa. Alis doesn't like Vanessa so she remains unnamed. A tricky conundrum Peter. May I suggest Jacob as a suitable name perhaps (as in the cream cracker). On reflection I think I shall christen mine Betty (as in the Ram Jam song Black Betty).

The family Merc gets referred to as the Panzerwagen. Catchy ! It's got be said in a bad German accent

The family Merc gets referred to as the Panzerwagen. Catchy ! It's got be said in a bad German accent Oooh - was not aware "Panzerwagen" is not a genuine English word.

I have ordered my new 4 4 with white body, black wings and black spoke wheels and black interieur and black hood. It will arrive in march and will be named "gatsby". Could not think about another name will fit better ...
2015 4/4 "Chaplin" in black and white, usually strolling around at the german north sea shore

I have ordered my new 4 4 with white body, black wings and black spoke wheels and black interieur and black hood. It will arrive in march and will be named "gatsby". Could not think about another name will fit better ... Superb Ralf! It'll be a long winter but then a 'Great' spring. Pics required when she arrives, of course. Cheers

KLE are the grouped Alphas in my +8 plate and I thought it might be a nice idea to give brains the opportunity to name the car when I arrived home in it back in July.
I gave her the keys and she took off to give it a little exercise returning and pronouncing that "it's very nice but it won't catch on" !
She didn't like the names suggested by the Alpha's as they were Kylie and Kathleen so "The Morgan" it is. How about Kayleigh ?

Could not think about another name will fit better ... I am restoring a series 1 DHC 1950 this is also named GATSBY it will be cream body and indigo wings. 
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.

A friend in Australia bought a Landrover with broken suspension. He called it "Eileen", and when fixed it was "Noeleen".
Another friend had a Transit that kept breaking down, called "Gloria" (sic transit gloria).

Woodstock, the 4/4 was named by my mother as it was rather yellow. The three wheeler was bought at the time the Elk test was in the news and gained the name as a result of its dislike of German motor cars and being denied sweets at nine years of age when war broke out.
