Oh and also it seems according to wiki it is one of the oldest english car companies still going? Is it the oldest? Plus its still independent.

Ah excellent! Does richard hammond still have his or did he sell it for the aeromax? Richard Thorne was advertising his Ferrari that he had to sell to buy the Aeromax, so I guess he still has one

Thanks Simon! I have all the figures i need, just some cool facts needed now!
I was sure Richard did own an aero 8? But then again thats magazines getting it mixed up for you so, Hmmmmm .... He extolled that virtues of the Aero 8 GTN but I don't remember ever hearing about him owning an Aero 8 or a GTN. As John mentioned, he sold his 550 to buy his AeroMax but has owned his Roadster for awhile. It was, again iirc, the first car he drove after the accident in the Vampire. As for MMC, they are the only British car company still owned by the founding family (not bad considering it will be 100 years in 2009).

Thanks everyone, i have my little list so  • Approx 550 Aero 8’s have been produced since 2000 • This Aero 8 is 1 of only 2 in the world painted Reflex Green • Morgan Motor Company was established in 1909 and is the oldest car company in the world still run by the family that established it • The Aero 8 was the first new Morgan designed since the Morgan Plus 8 which was released in 1968 • The frame of the Aero 8 is actually made from wood (Ash) which supports the aluminum body panels • The Aero 8 has competed at the 24 hours of Le Mans Race twice, in 2002 and 2004 • Richard Hammond owns a Morgan Roadster and the new Aeromax which is a special edition coupe version of the Aero 8. Only 100 Aeromax’s will ever be made What do you think

Funky, you missed a key fact Richard Hammond is the exception to the aero owning rule. As part of the Morgan selection criteria all Aero owns must be tall hansom and of a shy disposition. The factory is so concerned with this that it can make you wait years to see if you meet the height requirements.

It is quite important to discuss the chassis of the Aero 8 as it is quite modern and generally not a characteristic associated by the public with Morgan. Produced by Radshape , who also supply Bentley & Rolls Royce, MMC describe it as an "ultra stiff CAD designed aluminum alloy chassis specially treated and bonded with Gurrit Essex adhesive and riveted with Bollhoff rivets."

• The Aero 8 has competed at the 24 hours of Le Mans Race twice, in 2002 and 2004 And is currently competing in the GT3 Series where the two drivers of the lead Morgan car (Scheier/Lesourdier) are currently in 5th position in the points against some very serious major manufacturer sponsored teams .
