One of our Roadster 100 Register Associate Members now has one of the new 3.7ltr Roadster.
He has now fitted one of the R. Nick Taylor Aluminium Tool Trays of the size made for the 3.0ltr Roadster & +4 .
However, it was fortunate that our Member lives close Kevin's workshop and had his fitted there.
During that Fitting Session it transpired that the 3.7ltr Roadster has a much larger Fuel Tank that the previous 3 ltr Roadster.
This can be seen by comparing the Two photos.
The 3.7 has its Fuel Gauge moved forward.

Fortunately Kevin was able to make a modification there and then, with another delighted customer
This modification will be built into all future Trays so that they fit all models of Roadster. If yours is a 3.7 and you order one then talk to Kevin to make sure that yours has this modification.

Late to this topic but very interested as my MMC tray has, like a lot of you have described, been broken in the jack area by the differential and also by the brake Union contacting on full compression. Very interested in these trays, has anyone posted how much they are? I have tried to find the manufacturer so any email or website link please? Thanks.

I was going to order one for Aldermog, but concluded I'd solve the problem by buying a Plus 8.

These Tool Trays seem to be quite popular, keeping the lads busy in addition to their other Specialised Aluminum Welding Work. 
I will try and find out how many have been ordered so far.
I gather that Kevin is going to make the 3.7 Roadster Fuel Gauge Modification standard on all trays.

Nick Taylor Spoke to Kevin for situation report.
He has made 15 Tool Trays total
He has sold 10, including one in Europe and one order from Texas (Houston) - Sending a sketch to Texas as shipping cost £150

Delighted with the quality of this tray: at a stroke it solves what I've always considered to be a rather shoddy aspect of the build of my Roadster. I wanted to give the internal surface of the tray some "resilience" - for want of a better word - and didn't fancy trying to cut and paste numerous odd-shaped pieces of neoprene (sorry Dave), so I searched online and found Protectakote. This is a South African product, with multiple uses, such as lining the inside of pick-up beds. You end up with a kind of granular surface which contains rubber crumb, meaning that items placed in the tray don't slip around and clatter on the alloy surface. It should also add an element of sound-proofing. It ain't particularly cheap - but it's effective, and reasonably easy to apply. I'd recommend it on my experience so far (no connection - obviously). Here are a couple of pics.
