This is what I put in my old Aero and am having it fitted in the new one. http://www.mybecker.com/enUK/CAR+NAVIGATION-Cascade+7944-Overview.html

Simon, we are reaching the point (mostly as a function of the price/capacity curve of flash memory) where the empeg is getting obsolete (after 10 years!), but it's user interface and features are still far superior to the iPod (or anything I can buy today).

And yes, there are versions of it's software to do ogg and FLAC, but with FLAC you spin up the hard disk(s) all the time.

Is he referring to that small sports car made by Triumph between 1962 and 1980?

I think you'll find he's referring to the noise for a set of aero side pipes when the loud pedal is pressed.

Can't comment yet on it's installation in an Aeromax or SS (until tomorrow smile ) but I drove an auto S4 Aero down to St Tropez in 2009 and I have the same box in my X6.

I think he didn't drive the car long enough for it to 'learn' his driving style. As a 'celebrity' tester I'm guessing the car was brought to whatever he was, probably having crept along in London traffic for ages, and he did a quick half hour drive. As such it may well appear slow. I may of course have that totally wrong?

In auto mode for me it's absolutely smooth and fine, and works well in manual mode even blipping on down changes.

Cheers
