Under Tarka's Bonnet

Two Photos showing the installation of Wolf Performance Bonnet Stays on Tarka.

Photo 1 shows the bonnet held open
Photo 2 shows the Stay in its "parked" position.

Both photos give an idea of the tight packing needed to get a big V8 under the bonnet. They also show how the colour changes with the amount of and angle of light.

Photo 1 also shows the installation of the wiring for my Optimate 3 charger: the battery is possibly the most accessable item that actually needs no attention!

As before the stays were easy to install and do their job perfectly!

Plugs should be nicely seized by a 100,000 miles just in time for a new cylinder head Peter.

Just because they say they can last that long don't omit to have them removed each year and inspected! you know what great battery action you get between steel and ally heads!

The tips maybe iridium I doubt the threads are!

Not cheap but beautifully made.

They fit an Aero: installation is not difficult, but you have to remove the front bonnet clips from the wing and drill a 5mm hole to take the retaining clip. You have to drill a similar hole in the rear clip, but that can be done without removing it.

Or Williams will supply and fit.

Just be aware of the PAS fluid reservoir - behind the battery and very close to the engine. Under vigorous driving it gets very hot, the fluid thins and can then weep out of the return pipe. It then drips onto the exhaust manifold below.

Why they didn't mount it on the bulkhead side of the battery I'll never know

I'll keep an eye on it...though I understand that our Plus 8 has a larger power steering fluid cooler than initally fitted.

Another bit of genius installation is the location of the brake master cylinder under the radiator header tank.
Actually if they has put the power steering resevoir as you suggest then the header tank could be moved, providing access to the brake fluid resevoir!

And finally..took me 3 days to find the oil filler cap, nestling half under the wing. At least the dip stick is nicely accessable..!

I know, sometimes the cards fall in a way that works.
It is also a stunning drive, see my latest "Have you Driven" post.
