The French no longer drive like they are retreating. Why is this? You've got to go to Romania these days to frequently witness any really crazy fast drivers in ordinary cars, but I digress.
I've heard that the Tesco hi-octane stuff can cause some cars to struggle to start. I think this may be due to vehicles without a knock sensor are programme to fire just before TDC and burn as TDC is met. Maybe the hi-octane stuff ignites completely, but burns too soon/quick. Of course, I'm no engineer, just a Warranty boy, but I thought I'd throw this into the mix (pun intended)
Saying all of that, nothing would put me off buying a new +4 let me just say that.

Doesn't the Tesco high octane contain extra ethanol?

No idea, but the car used to promote the stuff, the BTCC MG6 ironically doesn't run well on it.

Hey Peter you are right! Drove it, loved it now where's my cheque book? Roger 4/4 Sand Well done that man Congratulations Roger. Keep us informed on the spec I drove the factory GDi a few weeks ago and was impressed by it. Wasn't expecting it to be as torquey as it was. It's interesting that whilst the engine manufacturers are trying to demonstrate how economical their engines are it seems that more so thAn ever the engines need thrashing like you've just stolen it to look after them.

Thats an unusual warranty. Does that apply to the whole car or just the engine?

Roger Thanks for that info. Bit more comfort. I did look at the MMC site but couldn't locate the warranty info. Looking at my service book on the plus4 it specified 2 years.

Bob As Roger says the warranty is 30,000 miles or 30 months. It covers ' repair, replacement or adjustment of all parts on the vehicle that are defective in factory supplied materials or workmanship' standard get out clauses are there for wear and tear, lack of maintenance, accidents etc. pages 119 onwards in the car handbook. I have the PDF handbook which covers all of the current trad cars and am happy to email it to you if you want, the warranty section covers 8 pages!

Andrew That would be very much appreciated. In the alternative if you could point me to the source that may be simpler? Thanks
