I agree, I was there too and could have been tempted if looking for a change. You know you should have , despite being 2 cylinders short!

Hi, Just found this post... For the Post 2006 4 seaters any progress / news on the best rear shock setup? With people in the back I notice the car bottoms out on bumps, is there any way to reduce this? The car is on standard shocks. The air setup sounds great but a bit to complex for me..
Also anyone know how to change the diff oil, the mid section of the rear seat is in the way?
Thanks Will

You might like to have a word with Dan White at Suplex UK about the rear suspension setup. I know he has done some work for people with 4 seaters in the past so he may have some suggestions for you.

The suplex rear setup at £4K is a bit out of reach.. Anyone had any benefit from Avos or Koni or are you better off with standard?

I have Koni on mine. Worth it. depending on the age of the car (eg 7 leaf spring, some people (including me) remove one of the leaf springs. The suplex rear setup at £4K is a bit out of reach.. Anyone had any benefit from Avos or Koni or are you better off with standard?

Just had vMog's original rear damps changed with AVO at Williams. I have to say I'm not happy so far with the new set: I have this feeling that the spring can't hold the weight of the car, really. I can notice regular knocking sounds to the back when passing important road deformations or when passing humps. This didn't happen before with the factory ones 😔 I hope it is just a settings issue (I still have to bring the car back at Williams for fine tuning).
Also, I read on another post that there were AVO dampers specifically designed for 4strs: does anyone know the difference and how to identify them visually?
Cheers, Vladimir

As I recall the standard 4 Seater dampers have an integral bump stop? Maybe one of the 4 Seater experts can confirm.

vMog. Speak to Tim Ayers at New Elms. I just got AVOs for my Plus8 from him and he will know which ones for a 4 seater. There is a list on his website with part numbers. Also....how many miles have you done with the new ones? Perhaps the fixing bolts have worked slack? My rear Konis were in need of replacement but I got fronts as well. Big improvement in the feel of the car with softest setting on rear and on 4 at front. Easy to fit by removing the tool tray for upper mount and jacking rear up for lower. I did add one extra washer to space the uppers a bit better. New nylocs to keep them secure front and rear but front top has a double nut so locked well.
