Also have a look at the Northwoods pack, it has nice diagonal leather straps
All the nice packs are under Canoe Packs in the Outdoor section

Also one of my favourite retailers is Manufactum in Germany and I think they have one in Austria as well

I've just been on the Manufactum.de website under Koffer and they have a few nice looking vintage style cases in a range of colours that could look nice

I take Duluth packs on all my canoeing expeditions and Ill say they are very water resistant, but not water proof. I always put everything which "has" to stay dry within ziplock or trashbags...toilet paper comes to mind...

a few week of portaging and paddling into the wilderness away from civilization and your toilet paper gets wet is a mistake you will only make once...

Yes I know the feeling

I put everything in the 'Duluth Pack Liner system' - technical name for a large clear polythene bag
When the canvas pack gets soaking wet, it always amazes me how quickly it drys out

Any practical experience with the old stuff?
Pics with a loeded M3W are welcome

No, unfortunately. Have yet to find exactly what I'm looking for at a reasonable price. It seems Interior Designers now fancy this luggage so much cheap knock offs are now available. All show, no go. Searching antique shops and such. Good hunting !
thumbs cheers

Manufactum! doh Completely forgot to check the catalog.
You are obviously experienced finding stylish items - and the prices have to match the overpriced MtW level blush

Manufactum...a wonderful website full of hundreds of things I want, but do not need. They have a UK website priced in GBPounds. Some of the prices are, well, let's say optimistic!
