I've had my Mog for two years but other diary commitments have conspired against me attending the annual MSCC bash. work Now retired cozychair I can make Llangollen in June, but do I want to?

What do others think of the event? Would you recommend it and what sort of things are organised? Must say the details on the MSCC web site are limited and I'm not at all sure what the "pride of ownership", "gymkhana", "auto duo"or "fun in the pits" are?

I would really appreciate the views of others.

From the booking form in last month's Miscellany, the 'outings' - take place on Saturday and the field activities on Sunday.

I have been to six or seven over the years including Oswestry, in 2004 I think, which isn't a million miles from Llangollen and have enjoyed the spectacle of so many Morgan's together and I can spend a long time just walking round the car park looking at the cars and talking to the owners.
I go on the Sunday when most trade stands and events are on and its a good day out with enough to do to maintain interest for a few hours with, for me, the drive there and back being an important part of the day.
As the roads and scenery around Llangollen are stunning and I can make it there and back in a day I will be going next year but didn't go to the North East event because whilst the roads are equally brilliant I didn't fancy spending more time on a motorway than at the event.

Hello Andy.

swmbo and I will be going to our first "MOG" next year. The combination of new-found TM buddy Roger-Cheshire and the lovely scenery around Llangollen - and a lovely non-motorway run up from Ross - has convinced us that it is worthwhile dipping our toes in this year.

I'm not a concours or Gymkhana person but I'm looking forward to watching those who are (Hi DaveW !).

I'm also hoping to do the trips (canal-boat ~ we are new devotees ~ and steam train {former fireman and current HST driver} as this adds other interest to the Morgan-fare.

Hope to see you there ?

Cheers

I too would like to know a little more, never having been to a major Mog gathering before, it sounds as if it could be fun, but I'm not sure there is enough detail yet to commit a weekend and a couple of hundred pounds to.

BTW, I do love the odd Gymkhana, but can take or leave canal boats and steam trains.

I`m booked in for the weekend.Even if you do not take part in the organised activities it is a great way of meeting other moggers and picking up ideas, picking brains and chatting up the suppliers & trade stands. Just driving around & seeing loads of other Morgans & waving + flashing (oo er missus!) gives a great cameraderie. Is it worth it ? - your couple of hundred may gain 1p in interest in the bank - but memories, friendships & experiences - PRICELESS! as they say in the ad.
See you in Llangollen (I`m staying at the Royal - good deal on Booking.com
As for pride of ownership - it is for those who like their car to look good but as one of the judges I admit a bias to a car that has obviously been used!

Wife and I went to Yorkshire last year and enjoyed it but booked into hotel for 3 nights as we live in Kent have booked another 3 nights next year and do some scenic runs but as has been mentioned I just love the chat with so many other Moggers . Wife however gets bored so we will also do some sight seeing on our own. Trade stands are worth a look picked up a great buy last year a morgan driving jacket reduced from £150 to £45

Hi the Mog15 is being organised by DevaMog.
I am sure one of the organiser will be on here to post about the event.
They scenic runs they are putting on are truly stunning.
If you want Castles and Mountains challenging roads then North Wales is the place to be.
I have put runs on for CranMog and Aero members over the last couple of years.
These routes will be of similar standards.
There are plenty of B and B accommodation for those on a budget.
Come and enjoy the the Mog15.

If I'm back in the driving seat by then, or I can get my partner to drive Nero, I'll be going up there mainly to socialise with TMers! And to see DaveW at work!
