I think that an entrance fee is reasonable as my experience of organising Lion Mayfayres teaches me that there are many hidden costs. It may well be the first Morgan ogrganised event that I have attended.

Guys, I really do recommend you to go, at least for one day or even two if you're doing a scenic run. You'll have a great time.

I believe that the charge for a day's entrance without the goody bag is £10 per car. Just how cheap is that? A couple of gallons of fuel; less than the entry into a National Trust property; less than the cheapest Morgan accessory. And if you arrive in a four seater - £2.50 a head!

For those who live 'daan sarf', the roads are uncongested with sweeping vistas over the hills and mountains. You'll struggle to find better outside of Scotland.

And an additional benefit? You might get the chance to see me! On the other hand.....

Seriously, I've attended MOG events since 1984, not every year and with one exception when the formula changed dramatically and the day's entry was pushing £40, I've thoroughly enjoyed every one of them.

And finally, I'm not connected with Devamog but recognise the hard work and personal cost by volunteers associated with putting on these fantastic and enjoyable events.

I have always viewed the goody bag as my contribution towards the running costs of MOGs and other than the rally plaques which are are on my garage wall as mementoes I can't recall any of the other contents. I will definitely be at Llangollen this year and appreciate all the hard work that the volunteers put in as without their efforts we wouldn't have our annual get together.

Thanks for all the input. I have just booked an hotel for the event but it's been difficult as the accommodation seems to be going fast! We've settled for a place about 5 miles out and are linking it with a longer stay elsewhere in Wales.

Thanks to everyone organising things, I really do appreciate it and look forward to a great event.

We are staying about 15 miles out, because we are not big fans of "big dinner" events and would rather do our own thing.
I blame being an only child and doing my own thing......... grin2

Crikey it must be a hell of a do if 15 miles is considered a 'safe distance'
