Yes there is a lot of tongue in cheek in all that is said on here. However and here's the rub. Can you tell me why most Harley and BMW riders fail to acknowledge a raised hand from an oncoming biker; unless they are riding the same make of bike. When I started biking back in the seventies there was huge camaraderie between bikers. A bike always slowed down if you were parked up just to check you didn't need assistance. I've been in a few clubs over the years and never stayed because of the bores who only drone on about Ducati's or Harley's or Beemer's. If your daft enough to get on two or three wheels in the first place you deserve my respect whatever your piloting.

I usually get a nod / wave from guys riding touring bikes , but not from 'show' bikes.
Go figure as they say.

In a funny sort of way biking was more fun when we rode them becuase we had to rather than just for fun.

Things have changed and one of the reason is there are so much more bikes on the road. On some Alpine pass roads I would only ride with one hand on the bike and the other one waving permanently on a nice sunny day...

As previously indicated I think it's rather that times have changed. In France I've noticed that lots of the bikers no longer salute.

My father remembers the days when with the AA badge of his Morris 8 he was saluted by AA patrolmen on motorbikes. Ah those were the days...

And as an aside I find I get a lot of salutes from bikers when in the Aero 8 but none when I'm in my wife's 2CV. Strange….

In Italy most riders will salute. I have even had a salute from motorcycle cops. I was going a bit fast too but that did not seem to bother them, it is Italy after all.

Can confirm that. Italy is still one of the best..(the more south the better for motorheads, at least thats my observation)

Pleased to hear your S&S engine is now run in and performing well Matty, bevel box is quite etc. As you say things can only get better! You have a good mileage on your car to prove it.

So if the Mazda Miata trans is already there, why not a 1.6L or the 1.8L Miata 4 banger with the transmission attached instead of the S&S? No comp or adapter to worry about and single exhaust.

I could be a very nice replica of the F4 Morgan's with Ford Tin Lizzy front fenders and splash shields. Even doors could be implemented.

Just a thought.

@Dan, I had wondered something very similar, but didnt think it would sell all that well. Though with the Polaris Slingshot selling in droves, I presume as long as they could actually keep the price to an affordable level like the slingshot, it could make sense. Sadly it would have the Morgan premium and probably not sell as well as the current M3W
