SBD Motorsport also do tuned Duratecs, they claim 347bhp from a 2.4l unit.
They use MBE ECUs, and although I have no experience of the Duratecs, the ECU they supplied for my VVTI engine works very well.

Cosworth may be able to supply them still, probably for more than £10k now though, otherwise Omex would certainly be able to build up a 2.5 Duratec, putting out up to 300bhp, they would probably be able to supercharge it too.
I would bet a pound to a penny that Chunky's race engine is being built by Omex at this very moment. In my opinion a 300bhp (or more) 2.5 Duratec would be fine on the track but a bit pointless on the road where you want good midrange torque and power for accelerating out of corners and overtaking. On the road you would have no-where to use 300hp in a trad and it may very well tempt one to do something a bit silly. That's me anyway, I probably would have wanted and used all I could get when I was 25, driving the old Pacific Highway north of Sydney, and doing 4 wheel drifts on every corner. I've been thinking about chopping in my Caterham and going back to a Plus 8 again for a while and so been watching the market. So few seem to be actually selling, and the same cars seem to be advertised for months on end. There's a couple of quite nice looking 90's cars at Allon White for example, both have dropped in price and both have been for sales for about a year.
I'm actually after a 3.9 pre cat and one I went to see in Birmingham, is still for sale 15 months later. What's going on? Are people just unrealistic in what they are asking and has the market shrunk?
Allon white told me last May (when I bought my Roadster for the reason's Dave W so well explained)that the big export area was Oz and with them in recession prices were falling. GoMog have I think a comparison on the versions.

£280,000 for an Aero GT... £115,000 for S5 chassis 5 (iirc) with SSL suspension. That's way over list for the GT, and list + a bit for the S5. I think we can safely say that the post-production dip in values is over...

2018 Plus 8 at £140,000OK, it is delivery mileage, but really.. And £116,000 for a 2017 car. A more comparable car is at £76,000.

Ear in mind the tax situation - for instance a reasonably specced plus four in Ireland is north of €110,000 in Ireland so God knows what a series5 aero8 would have been - probably about €150,000!!! So a second hand at €130,000 is not outrageous, if it was here. Vehicle registration tax is circa 25% on top of the VAT inclusive price!!!
Think yourselves lucky just to pay company price!
