I am not sure, looks a bit odd to me, might be better with day time runner up the other way like a smiley. One question just how much are these, bet they are pricey?

The ones from Truck-lite maybe better image fit with trads. still not sure though.

In the past we only had the choice of good reflectors and Quartz Halogen bulbs.
Now we seem to have a plethora of products available and some confusion is inevitable.
I think it is useful to ask why we need to upgrade. Most of us don't thrash down forest tracks at the dead of night in Morgans, so a pair of the best reflectors, and the highest power bulbs are possibly sufficient for the amount of night driving we do.
I wasn't happy with the dipped beam performance, so went to an HID system. This has been good enough for me, but I do appreciate the lower current consumption of LED lights which will cut not only the draw on the generator/alternator and through the switchgear.
The legality of these systems for the MoT test is something else that also needs clarifying.

The legality of these systems for the MoT test is something else that also needs clarifying. Not really the right question as passing a MOT test does not mean the car is legal! The law on vehicle lighting desperately needs updating though as it the way it is written, a car equipped with original HIDs and or LEDs is legal, but the same model that left the factory with incandescent bulbs and has been retro fitted might not be! Personally I find the lights fitted to my 2012 car (and presumably the current range) to be pretty good. I have a set of fog/driving lights fitted but that is mainly for cosmetic reasons.

I have a set of fog/driving lights fitted but that is mainly for cosmetic reasons. +1 Our old car had Cibie H180's fitted which, when renewed because of corroded reflectors were also good. I plan to keep our car standard - that way, if I get caught without a spare bulb when touring, any garage will be able to supply a replacement. We carry a spare bulb set, but Murphy's law states (categorically) that a second bulb will fail in the time between a spare from the set being used and me getting round to replacing it.
