Talking of C of G, when putting a Lotus Elise MK1 on a 2 post lift you had to screw in the front towing eye and hang a bag of sand on it to stop it falling off backwards.

Matty I take it that you dont intend to work under it whilst on the forks, its only to lift it onto stands?

This is what I will have on order as soon as I can get round to organising things. This is an adjustable tilter that will be able to fit both my Renault Spider and the 3W. I chose this as when setup for the Renault, which is wide, it will tilt fore and aft, as designed. For the 3W it can be spun round 90 degrees and will fit under the car without any further adjustments, although the tilt will then be left to right, which might be useful. It offers a decent lift and can be parked up lent against a wall when not in use. Simples!

I got a set of these from the same firm a few months ago , to stop possible damage to my new Blockleys with the car standing for long periods over the winter. They do what it says on the tin.

No, your right. I will engineer up some steel and wood trestles. I would use for removing rear wheel but most work would be from above. It's gonna take some fettling to get the balance right but I reckon its a goer.
