I'm 62 on 10th April, and have been working 18hrs a week (ten days a month) since April 2013. Those two years have flown by, and in this second year I have become used to, and comfortable with the new way of living. I'm not sure that I would have liked to go from full time to fully retired, that must be a big shock to the system.
The absolute maximum that I will do is three more years, but I'm taking it six months at a time, and I can leave with 30 days notice. Since I still enjoy the job, despite growing challenges, and I enjoy the income, I'm carrying on for now. My state pension comes in three years anyway, so when that happens we will be able to maintain our car centric lifestyle!
MrsW has been bagging her state pension since last March, has been fully retired for almost three years, and loves it.
