I knew that a trad Morgan was for me after about a mile on the first test drive. Maybe even less.

I think Dave would agree with me, that if a 2015 car leaks water it shouldn't and it should be fixed. Following some of his advice on this forum and a couple of things I have done myself the car is almost completely leak proof. I say almost completely because a small leak has started under the corner of the windscreen on the passenger side. When the car goes in for its spring service next week I will get them to put some sealant in that area. At the same time I will get them to drill some drain holes in the side screen chanels in the place where the factory is now putting them. Other than that I should fit the new seal that Morgan gave me for the hood/windscreen top rail.

I had the experience of driving into some flood water nearly 30 cm deep (12 inches) during a storm at about 30 or 40 km/h. It was like driving under a waterfall and I could not see anything. I drowned my nice new twin horns but amazingly not one drop of water came into the car. The horns eventually dried out but for a while they made frog sounds instead of beeping.

About a mile for me...even though the demonstrator wasn't running properly and it squeaked like hell! The view down the bonnet and the feel as you put it into corners sold it to me! I loved it!
When it came to Nero....about 100 yards!

I am very, very happy with my Plus 4 everything works as it should - not even a squeak from the dash etc

Only problem I have had is when the centre steering wheel boss dropped out in my lap and the remaining loose wire had me tooting like a demented Lazio fan as I drove down the street in rural Ireland

See - I can laugh about it now - you won't experience that a in a Boxster.

Welcome fellow Northerner.

I agreed to buy my first Morgan (privately) before driving or seeing it, went for a quick test drive thinking that the steering must be broken and it was an awful ride. Half an hour later I'm driving it up the M6 in the rain, delirious and wondering what the heck I had just done. confused2

Three years later I've taken delivery of my plus 4 still thinking the steering is broken, it's still an awful ride, still delirious and still wondering what the heck I've just done! laugh2

Thank you all for the welcome and information.

Roger, I'm from Hartlepool ( monkey hanger to JTL smile )

That dash is nice Gamba,
I haven't even been to MMC yet and you've got me
thinking about that old oak in my workshop tucked
away for something special, woodwork was my main
hobby before venturing into photography, so I may
be dusting off my spindle moulding skills.

Jays, hope your up and about when I visit the factory.
I'm not under any delusion that a morgan will drive
like an Xk, just a bit wary of build quality after
reading some of the discussions on the forum, and
was beginning to think how often It would come out
of the garage in wet old England.

Ian - it's simple. All you have to do is get out in one and as Jays says just look down that long bonnet. There are very few (relatively affordable) cars that that give you that view. Once you've bounced down the road a little while all the really sensible questions you have been asking will melt out of your mind! A factory tour wil seal it for you.

That happened to me on Saturday too! Still can't work out how as the wire wasn't connect to the button!

It must be a right of passage this to owning a Morgan! laugh2
