Completely different world. The TC is now not so much a classic as a vintage car - a great toy if you like tinkering and dont want to use it as transport, but extremely irritating and frustrating if you do. There is no comparison with a modern 4/4 whose mechanics are from a different era.

So really the answer is more about you - how you want to use the car, what you like doing in your spare time, how mechanically competent you are, whether you have a beard. A TC isnt so much a car as a hobby.

0n more than one occasion I have thought that it would be quite easy for Morgan to build a 2+2 as an option instead of a 4 seater. It could have optional child seats and belts but more importantly without seats it would have more space for touring luggage. The rear line could be halfway between a 2 seater and a 4 seater and the hood could have a more attractive design as it would not have to accommodate the height of adults in the back seat or luggage space (much like the TC). It could be complimented by a rear tonneau/luggage cover and have a slot behind the luggage space for sidescreen storage (like the Sport) and an optional narrow (space saver) spare wheel mounted completely externally.

Ideal for people with small children or dogs, or people who like touring. Development cost almost zero.

A sort of cross between the MG TC and the trad Morgan.

Peter that is a sensible suggestion that would result in a car the market would take to, especially if it had an auto box.

Which is why I doubt we will see it. hide

Peter I have had the same thought for years, but not with the auto box.

That's very true.. I have dreams of touring around in my 4/4 but in reality its usually short runs on local roads, a few events etc etc,. Mechanical stuff I'm ok with, it was my living during the 70's and 80's so not much I cant tackle and I have a lathe and tooling. I enjoy the tinkering aspect very much.. oh and the beard... its gone .. for now. So as a TC owner profile I think I'm close! As for the one I was looking at... dithered too long and its sold frown

The Morgan 2+2 idea is a top suggestion and gets my vote all day long.
Someone else's suggestion the MG TC was irritating or unreliable I never found to be the case with mine.
I think maybe FCO541 knew I would tinker all day long if she dared to let me down and so never did.
A quick check with the DVLA reveals her to be taxed and on the road still.

I just can't see what the attraction of a trad Morgan is with an auto box! It's a classic sports car!!

2+2 is good!
I did post elsewhere what my ideal would be - but I would like a secure locking +2 bit...
Will keep the manual box though - maybe a sequential... smile
