A friend of mine with a 4/4 4-seater wants to tow a small trailer tent. His car is the right age for type approval to tow, but neither of us know the details of the towbar design. We are quite capable of building towbar frame, does anyone out ther have either a sketch or some photos?

My dad has one on his, basically a steel bar attached to the rear of the chassis, not the most attractive fitment. I have seen them attached to the rear bumper with strengthening behind which would likely be the best option.. What weight is he planning to tow?
Am up in Scotland at Easter so could take some pics then.
