Hello,

I'm thinking about adding a little colour to my sports grey Roadster with black leather and painted dash. To get some inspiration I'd like to see pictures of the actual wooden dash fitted by Morgan, hopefully for the 3.7. They offer ash and walnut. Is someone willing to share pictures?

I have some cherrytree planks left over and like the look of the old wooden dashs, like planks really.
My colour reference right now is modern furniture, where they combine the cold grey of concrete with dark and warm wood. Feel free to comment.

Link to page showing dash of my 3.7. std walnut dash.Personally, I still don't like the black plastic dial surrounds and if the opportunity arrises, I will change these for turned ali surrounds which would give the car a better, classic look. My dash, the first photo in the dash thread mentioned by Milt, is a Walnut dash. Cherry is a lovely wood but tends to be a softer colour with less visible grain, but of course that is a variable and also depends how the plank was cut.

I have the idea to keep the shape and position of the instruments and only change the material, therefore i needed a picture of the standard wooden dash. Peter, it seems as if most like the look of uneven grain, like burl wood. I prefer the look of smoother grain with lines going from left to right over the dash.
I remember pictures of dashs from Borghi for the actual Plus8 in different woods and colours, hanging in front of a wall.
Do have any idea where I could find them again?

Here is a picture of a Morgan Walnut dash in my 2003 4/4, albeit with different instrument positions

Very nice Bud. The matching gear knob is a nice touch too. Have you thought of getting the wheel re-wooded to match?

It looks a closer match in reality, however the small difference doesn't bother me.


I trust you noticed how the seatbelt stalks match the interior trim?

All this too on a 'poverty model'!
