I'm going to call mine a 'proper' Morgan. Hahahaha Don't mind me....I just like to remind PeterJ thats he's deserted the trad Trads and moved to the dark side If they have a Morgan badge on and are built in the shade of the Malvern Hills, they ARE a Morgan! Correct but some Morgans are more equal than others!

I have to agree with you. OK a modern morgan might have a heated screen so demisting by aircon isnt such an issue, but on the few really hot days we get a long journey without hood becomes painful as with one. So when its really warm I use the aircon in the Lotus to blow cold air onto me even with the roof off.
I guess it might be a bit different in a morgan because it is a proper convertible whilst my lotus is a sort of targa top with less air blowing around. Nevertheless, IMO aircon in a sports car is great.
One of the reasons why convertibles have traditionally sold better here than elsewhere in europe is because of our climate. Open cars arent much fun in 30C or more. We do the same thing in our Morgan, which has aircon. If the sun gets really unbearably hot we put the top up too. We often get temperatures in the high 30s with a very high humidity in summer. The only problem with the Morgan air vents is that they are located only in the foot well. You get most of the cold air on the side nearest the centre of the car and none on your upper torso. Still it is better than nothing. I won't even mention the problem of a wet, sweaty, shirt back against the leather seat back. The Lotus has a poor ventilation system which means ( and I have measured with a temperature probe) that the air coming out of the vents is 10C above ambient even with the heater completely off. So the aircon is needed just to get that air down to outside temperatures. I'm sorry to say that the ventilation system is made in Italy

I'm sorry to say that the ventilation system is made in Italy Where aircon has been standard fitment in cars such as the Maserati since the 60s but in this case has been fitted in England where a heater may be considered necessary but aircon is thought not to be required in a convertible.
