And the yellow one at far right...it's got me! Could it be an MG Midget? I could get tlLB to check when she goes back to the cottage tomorrow; but it might have been moved!!  Or a Jaguar xjs.

Hard to tell the difference from a distance... And there was me thinking Aston Martin had pioneered this design philosophy when in fact Ford were doing it back in the 1970s...

Not a Midget - the lights are recessed on that car. The white car is almost certainly a MKIV Cortina.
Corporate stagnation in design is everywhere now, the money men daren't take a risk any more. All the German manufacturers have done it for a long time, but now Toyota and Renault are at it.
Mind you, who are we to criticise.............
Those of a certain age will remember the outcry when Ford released the Sierra - it was despised.

Can't believe no-one has mentioned wanting to get an Allegro, Avenger or Viva.  Out of our price range. Off the scale. Ooh no fish again.

I have always had a soft spot for a Volvo P1800. Good shout. A trifle more realistic than some of the flights of fancy being engaged in, too! Hence my original quote of XK-8 - a classic yet to emerge I think

Hence my original quote of XK-8 - a classic yet to emerge I think Graham, I owned an XK8 after a facelift 4 litre XJ-S. Performance-wise, yes it was an improvement but as for the rest of the experience, a let-down. Mondeo switchgear, nylon roof-lining instead of wool, nylon carpets, plastic instead of leather. Apparently, Jaguar had reduced the build time by 47% but instead of raising the experience, it left me cold. By comparison, the XJ-S was a wonderful car for feel-good. Opening the doors, the car seemed to say "Climb in, you've had a tiring day. Let me get you home with comfort and speed." I know that the design is not to everyones' taste but for me the facelift XJ-S wins hands down very time.
