I wonder if the 4.4 V8 turbo engines are available still...? Huge power and probably too much for the Aero anyway.

Also don't forget that one or two clever people managed to get the V10 into Aeros, so a straight 6 is probably not much longer than that.

I doubt a 4 pot would do the trick aurally even if it had the power, and would certainly be a step too far in the short term even if we all end up with 3 cylinder turbos in a decade or so with or without battery power.

Maybe moving the coil overs outboard allows more room for longer engines than the current location of the coil overs on the aero setup?

I think that's probably a very good deduction!

So - moving from inboard coils and double wishbones may be more to do with the engine change than real progress on the suspension front! However, I'm sure they've done a good job on the suspension. Whoever designed the M3W's set-up must have been asked to go on a course before designing the new Aero!!

It would free up 22 to 25 cm between front of the V8 and the back of the radiators.

The luggage space in the new Aero on display in Geneva was poor compared to S4 however, it is comparable or perhaps better than a lot of sports cars.

I hope it does get a bit better on the production cars but can live with it if it doesn't.

Nick mentioned it would be "deeper on the production vehicles". The luggage space in the SS makes it a very capable GT.

Liking the new Aero, but prefer the leather interior of the previous model to the carpeted version.

Also prefer earlier steering wheel.

Is it possible to specify full leather on the new model?

I'm sure you can have whatever interior trim you want to pay for....!!

As to the steering wheel, I don't think it is any longer offered: the new one is designed to take flappy paddles, which come with the Auto box. To be honest I prefer it to the original, but both are a bit naff.

This is the wheel I want to fit...

The BMW version shown above doesn't have gear change buttons, the Alpina one does BUT Alpina in Germany won't sell me one!! They are only available to owners of an Alpina Z8.... The BMW dealer has to provide the VIN Number and explain why a new wheel is needed.
