Has anyone experimented with a lower profile rear tyre yet?

I am just on 5000 , rear tyre still has reasonable tread and will last to end of season then will need replacing.
First sprocket lasted 2500 miles , second another 2000 and was well on the way out at this time.
Now on a steel sprocket with 500 miles and no signs of deterioration.

First sprocket about 3500 miles. Second one about 6,000. I upgraded one of the worn sprockets with the neoprene gear via Super Max. Don't know when I'll replace the third sprocket but it will happen!

Rear tire shot at 8500. I fully expect to get much more out of the replacement as the joy of burnouts and other stupid moves has lessoned for me.

Hi Michael,

I presume that the SuperMax one has been going from 6000 - over 8,8500 miles? I am interested to know how it is wearing relative to the previous pulleys. Do you have any feedback on the Super Max sprocket yet?

Thanks

Steve

Steve,

I haven't had the chance to install it yet as the third pulley is still going strong but is already showing signs of wear but not making a racket. This one the dealer had hard anodized before installing. I only just pulled the car out of the garage last week due to a very long, cold winter. It was still trying to snow today!

May is looking busy so I think June will be when I swap them out.

Michael

Ahhh, thankyou. I misunderstood and thought you had fitted it as the third one. I was afraid you were saying it was on its way out too. doh

I'll keep watching for feedback on the SuperMax mod.

pulley 1 10.000km

pulley 2 10.000km

pulley 3 10.000km

pulley 4 new

the last rear aluminum pulley is 6061 series, harder than the previous three.
I hope that I will soon receive morgan steel pulley warranty.

It appears to me that what we are all seeing with the price rise of this car, the warranty issues, steering fixes, pulley issues, cooling problems, cracked frames, compensator issues and the like, initial designs that have not gone well.

I've heard it here on this forum, I've repeated the same sentiment and I will do so again: I had no idea that I was a beta tester!

I have fixed, out of my own pocket, the steering with the so-called comfort pack. Whoever decided to call it that at Morgan should have an anal probe...

I am on the third sprocket and looking forward to replacing it with the Super Max mod at my expense in the near future.

All and all, it has been a great trip, even with all of my griping. When the car has gone down it has been brief.

Good luck with the steel sprocket! If that doesn't do it then there are bigger problems...

As expected, there is a huge variation. (I know Calum doesn't drive like a little old lady, I've seen the video)
Does Morgan view the sprocket as a warranty item? Some posts imply that it may. What's the story on the steel version and has it proved a better option?
