Thank you... smile

I love it myself as it happens - it's the Morgan I should have started with, but maybe I needed a trad first for the contrast.

On my Sunday drive I pulled into a garage for petrol and the guy there said "I heard you go past about 2 hours ago - my God, what a sound!".

I bought it for many of the same reasons PJ did, one of the main ones being that I wanted a new V8 before the eco warriors kill them - I'm very glad I did. It's a peach of a car.

Over the weekend Salisbury to Malvern Link, set off at 8am, empty roads, but a wet drive up so hood up: steady and effortless 80 on the main roads, part of the way on the A417 in convoy with a nice 4 seater, also hood up. Arrived just after 10 for the "party"!

Sunday went up the hill to the Cottage on the Hill hotel to check it out for the post TOTH Dinner, more details to follow. The drive up to the hotel is steep, twisty and narrow.... The over to the other side of Worcester for a family lunch and to take my nieces (17 and 19) out for a quick blast.

After lunch a scenic run back home, arrived back at 6.30 after 260 miles and still 25% fuel left.

After a very gloomy forecast, we have managed the complete weekend hood down. Friday was down to Crudwell via Buscot. Saturday was spent in Malmesbury. Sunday was a touring day with highlights including the village of Castle Combe. Walking down the hill from the car park, we encountered 56 vintage and classic tractors out for Drive It Day. On to the Atwell Wilson Motor Museum where DonMog gatecrashed the SwanMog DID event and were made very welcome. Then on to Lacock to look at the Abbey. Today we returned up the Fosse, pausing for SWMBO to get an equine fix at Redwings Horse Sanctuary.
All in all a great weekend of Morgan motoring - around 280 miles all in.

When I arrived at work this morning, the most recent forecast I had seen said there was going to be a heavyish rain shower during the day.

One thing I dislike is wrestling with a wet tonneau cover, so I put the roof up.

When I came out from work, although it wasn't raining, it was grey and surprisingly cold - so I drove home with the roof up.

And do you know, I rather enjoyed it!

It can be quite cosy can't it

The last time I had the hood on mine was when it poured down on a trip back from Formby several weeks ago and with the rain came a cold wind came as well so the added insulation of the hood helped keep us snug and warm

We quite liked the cosyness and watching bits a water coming in reminded us when we were young and newly married camping in atrocious conditions

What amazes me is that with the roof up, you can have the side window fully open, and no draught................. and the rain doesn't come in that way either.

Roof up and sides off is also a nice way to travel.

Most of the air comes over the screen. I can feel it on the top of my head and on the back of my head.
Blowing forward.
With side wind deflectors there is little wind on my face despite no sidescreens.
I got caught in a hailstorm a few weeks ago and boy did it hurt!
M4 and even at that speed the hail came down and not blown away by slipstream. Luckily I had sunglasses on!
