How is one supposed to remove the paper please?
Soaking for a month (!) doesn't work.

Best stuff for dissolving glue is oil of eucalyptus, works like magic.

Nail varnish remover does the job quite well on glass.
I would not use it on painted surfaces, but it is excellent on glass (and your spouce may have it as a part of her make up kit...)

Do you want to remove the backing paper to stick said sticker to the windscreen? A pin inserted through the vinyl near the edge will lift it from the backing - then just use long fingernails - wife, daughter or a guitar player may come in useful here.
