Interestingly the very car that Chris demonstrated in the video and that was used in all the literature was at the MSCC AGM a few weeks ago

It looked in fabulous condition and it had a body colour roll bar fitted

Sadly didn't meet the owners but I think someone said they are in SwanMog

I have a 2010 4 seater and I don't have to remove the headrests or move the seats.

It's interesting that Dek finds he doesn't need to move the seats etc..
Do the back seats adjust on runners?
Perhaps this is one of those things that are individual to each car?

The 4 seater design changed again around 2006 which is the same design as the current model where the rear is longer and the hood is different so the hood can be raised without having to tip the seats forward

So to recap

Pre 1997 - bench rear seats, no headrests as standard so hood can be raised

1997-1998 no 4 seaters made

1999 - new design as the video with Chris Goffey where the hood can only be raised with just tipping the seats forward a bit because the frames are right to the back of the seats

2006 - new design with new easy(ier) up hood and longer rear where the hood will go up without tipping the seats forward but from what I can remember on the hire cars I've had, I think the rear headrests have to be removed ( might be wrong on that)

Dek is quite correct about the later cars.

My hood is nothing like the video. The cover and frame are not separate - they are fixed together. There is not a separate rear window flap either. Instead, the back of the hood where it attaches to the car lifts up so that you have access to the "boot" (the area behind the rear seats). The side screens fit in a slot in the boot and still leave room for luggage (or you can lie the rear seats down and fit two airline sized checked bags in. It is also much simpler to put up than the one in the video. My hood is factory standard mohair one.

yours is the new and current design which was from 2006

longer rear with the larger space behind the rear seats and easy up hood

Is the hood as hard to put up as local people are telling me? Even without the seat lowering business on the earlier ones?
