If it is chrome or bright polished alloy with clear coat over it will be a real pig to sort out. At least the Aeromax wheels are painted....
The new "Aero 8 standard wheels" look good, from the photos in the brochure.
I've asked MMC to source 18" pressed steel wheels on which I can fit winter tyres. They will, as an additional benifit, be easy to re-finsh as I'll have them sprayed metallic cream to go with the wing beading!

And here is the wheel cleaned up and with 2 coats of primer applied. Next is a rub down with 1200 wet and dry paper, then brush on the correct solour: as others have said it is better to collect paint from the rattle can and brush on. I use a chisel tipped sable artists brush. Once the colour is applied I remove the yellow masking tape and mist on a coat of clear coat.

A good wheel restorer should be able to do the job. It may be worth looking for one . I would ask in Pistonheads as a lot of people there are " bling happy" and would know of them! The S1 Aero8 had magnesium alloys.....now THAT is a problem! Real specialised repair needed there. How about vinyl wrap too? A basic colour to match would cover some marks but not stop a kerbing bash. There are some interesting colour schemes available! Usually seen on cars owned by youngsters into bling to help the car go faster......

There is, I could fill them but as I've ordered a set of black "AlloyGator" rim protectors, the small martks will not show and I won't bother to fill them....for now.

Now I see Peter, this is some kind of therapy for you......! But respect: you tackled it right away and I'm sure the result will be nearly immaculate!

I bought a second hand 18" wheel from SGT with the chrome rim and allow centre for an S3 Aero. It was described as in excellent condition but when I went to get it I found this was rather an optimistic view and it was pretty heavily curbed all the way round.
I didn't think it could be refurb'ed but Brands Hatch Morgan found someone who did a fantastic job and the wheel looks new again. No idea who but someone at BHM will know. It was quite a lot to refurb - I think just under £100 but the wheel is as good as new again and was very poor before!

Now I see Peter, this is some kind of therapy for you......! I think you are right...OCD tendancy.... Anyway it is now fixed, and back on the car. Close up there are some little marks, but it is clear that the wheels have been repaired before. I'm waiting for the paint and clear coat to harden before I fit the AlloyGaiters, a further photo to follow!

Looks like a good repair. I can only (just) see a mark shortly before the 12 o'clock position.
