I have the Jaeger that came with my Vanquish.

I say 'came with' - it was offered to me for money.

I also like Bremont watches - beautiful and well crafted timepieces

And I also like nice quality briefcases

And nothing wrong in linking special limited edition well crafted luxury goods with cars and car brands, if you like that sort of thing and reflect something about the cars

But where I have a problem is similar to Alistair's point that I felt that they devalued the car and these items

it should have all been just about the car and it's craft, originality and provenance

If they felt that they had to throw in these items to sell these cars then they were selling them to wrong people at the wrong price

And I think will add to the sniffyness from purists because it seemed to have more to do with the trappings of luxury and wealth

Will the "repro" models be seen any more often than the real ones. Are the bag and watch any more than guilting on the Lilly for someone who has paid a lot but may not see the true value of the work done. Is the program a more realistic portrayal of the effort they went to ?

Is the gap from $1m to the "real" £5m not just an exploitation moment. Is it all practice for SVO prior to them becoming the old Newport Pagnal works team ? if they do then they get my vote. They were true artisans.

I think the owners were made to feel a bit special and thats what its all about, good marketing and feelgood factor especially when you hand over one point three million.I had a free baseball cap when i bought my new plus four.

The edge stitching is done using a special thread spun from the aluminium shavings cut from the bonnet louvre slits, wound into thread on a special spinning wheel powered by an S&S twin cylinder engine
