Wish i had a duster because the cap has lived on the central reservation of the M4 for many years,I even slow down when i pass it as a mark of respect..
Em My second Morgan baseball cap ended up somewhere on the A556 near Northwich after a very exuberant test drive of the Speedster. I pass my respects to that one too.  NippyMog and I paid respects to it by running it over chasing you in the speedster ....along with other 30+ test drivers! I think it was the best tenners worth I've ever had!

Returning to topic, I watched this yesterday and quite enjoyed it. The trinkets were very well made. Imagine if Morgan presented you with a matching case for your car..............
And a shirt of some description in your size. The watch I could take or leave - I'm not a watch person and never have been really.
The E type? Beautifully made but I prefer the Eagle version. Stripped out racers don't really appeal much.
Not sure Mark Evans was the right person either.

Its only a matter of time before the case ends up all scratched , I suppose its called character but rather have a good leather hold all .
Bonhams have a 1967/1988 Jaguar XKSS 3.8 Litre Lynx replica . I would much rather have that and use it or an Eagle roadster .

If it was painted in the same studio, using the same paints, by relatives of the artist and was identical.... should it go in the Tate?  I was having a conversation on the subject of the E Type 'continuation' over lunch- it's an interesting subject. If it was identical, wouldnt you send it to the Tate, or Southerbies? I would. If people are stupid enough to pay more for the same item just because they think it comes from a name, rather than because of the inherent worth or the item, then I see no reason not to take advantage.

Five "replicas" for the price of an original seems like a bargain to me.

Massive debate in the office over this particularly Lord March's comment..how can the original manufacturer make a "replica" anyway...  However..I'm biased...as the office in the programme is my work place....

Been reflecting on this programme. I think it is symptomatic of a generation that knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. The more I think about it, the repetitive focus on the super rich prospective owners and the price tag devalued the craftmanship and pride being taken at Jaguar - a great British success story celebrating its heritage by building something really special. Had I made the programme, I would have kept the price tag to the very end. Perhaps this is why I am not a television producer?
