Back on thread........
Did an oil change this morning. Did short run to take the old oil to the disposal tank.
No leaks showing.
I think a longer run this evening is needed to thoroughly check... smile
Weather is perfect....

Took a friend out for a run out in the green Mog this morning , he'd never been in one before , he was a bit shocked at the speed and all that fresh air and the noise .... he's retired !

Lovely spirited drive down to Cambridge and back. Top down and screens off the car performed beautifully. I went to Cambridge to look at a classic Mini Cooper Sport for sale at Cambridge Mini Works in Great Shelford. I think I've fallen in love with the car! Only 6 k miles from new in 2000 and looks immaculate. Lovely little garage with a good stock of proper minis. All I have to do is persuade Karen now. I suspect bribery is called for..

I've no intention of leaving the Morgan fold but as Karen is retiring at Christmas we need to think about the cars we have. Anyway I will need a car perhaps more convenient as an everyday car than the Morgan, but I want something with character. Reginald's place in the garage is guaranteed, he might just have a new sleeping partner.

Any advice any of you guys can offer on buying original Minis, the dealer I've visited today or other delears that you know would be very gratefully received.

Andy

Lovely run out this evening Stoke Fleming, Dartmouth higher ferry Brixham, Paignton onto Torquay harbour where there seems to be some kind of boating happening going on. Waved to and a quick hello to a Dark Blue Roadster LS58MOG driver at a road junction. On from Torquay to Totnes and home via Paignton quite a few immaculate proper Minis around maybe they were having a meet somewhere.

Weather is perfect....

Did go out...only about 20 odd miles though.
Plugged in my OBD unit to check some readings....inlet air temp mainly.
Ambient temp was 15 degs.....input air varied between 27 and 33 degs.
27 to 29 while poodling through villages....went up to 33 on the M4 bit when at exit junc and on stop. Stayed at 32/33 from then on. Water temp was between 80 deg and 97 when fan cut in.

If you are not familar with the benefits of having an OBD (on-board diagnostics) reader check out some of the threads on a search for OBD2 reader and look at any threads that come up with either mentions of 'OBD' or 'engine warning light'.
