YES.. Very much so. Ive kept a blog since we got ours. If you read through it expecting tales of disaster you would be very disappointed.

It's not the cost for me, I presently run around 7/8 toys, although down from 14! it's the hassle/time factor.

It's not the cost for me either - I have 5 cars - it's the balance of fun versus grief and what else I could spend the time and money on... Starting to get interested in the new TVR and the new Lotus 3/11.

If you're thinking of going to TVR or Lotus then things have to be getting serious!

My M3W docks in Seattle next Monday, July 13th, so I’ve no direct experience with issues this tread is speaking to. However, I am left to wonder how wide spread these issues actually are. What percentage of owners are experiencing these issues? 10%, 20%, 50%? As with most things in life you hear about the complaints people have far more often, and with more vigor, than the successes. I have spent the last 5 months reading every M3W article I can find and I’ve followed every M3W thread here on TM. It does seem there are a number of issues and complaints but it also seems to be limited to 20+ different users who have reporting issues. Given the roughly 2000 new generation M3W’s in existence, a fair number of whom I presume belong to this forum (if they’re smart), how many of them have had these issues? Are 80% of owners trouble free, 60% 40%... 90%? I think an accurate perspective is needed to place this thread in context.

Do not worry - your car will be fine!

The early cars all did have inherent problems -bump steer to name but one.

But as posted most of these problems are now resolved.

I was lucky enough to end up with a relatively trouble free December 2012 built M3W, but the forums have made me increasingly paranoid that something bad is due to happen. I have been driving it less often and haven't taken it to any events yet this season. My compensator is on its way out, the rear sprocket is being eaten and chirps like a canary on occasion and every time I track down one rattle another one rears up someplace new. Not something I want to have to explain to everyone as I pull up to a group of car enthusiasts.

But this car offers a thrill that is incomparable to pretty much anything else, gobs of attention and excitement from complete strangers, many stoplight conversations, honks and waves from other motorists. Unfortunately the wife doesn't like all the attention all the time, so it has been mostly used to brighten up my commute to work and back this year.

I went out of my way, knowing the inherent dangers, to get an early production number vehicle with the thought that years down the road it could be worth more if it remained unmolested and kept up. I don't think a fraction of enough time has passed to hope for this to be a reality yet. So, I will drive it when I can with my fingers crossed that I can get through the season without any additional cost of ownership and that I don't end up on the side of the road looking like a fool for spending so much on something so unnecessary.

Exactly, a very important question, and I do not know why everyone with a Morgan isn't on here, whether they post or not, but it appears they aren't. There are also many owners who do not do enough miles to see the problems or who just do not recognise that a particular trait is a problem, the bumpsteer issue is very much like this. I am led to believe that some owners actually like their cars to dive around the road every time they hit a pothole.

Don't forget that most of the problems occurred on 2012/13 models, and this is important to bear in mind. A bit tough for owners of those model years however, as they will undoubtedly find a harder to sell, when the time comes around. I had my 2013 advertised at a very realistic £27500 for several months late last summer and autumn and ended up trading it in for a Plus 4, for an allowance of £25k, it was 18 months old with around 3500 miles from memory, and I had to put quite a lot to that trade in allowance as well.

However, the experience was fantastic, whether is was worth what I might have lost, I don't know and only each individual owner can decide if it is value for money.

If you have an early car I am sure most owners who actualy use the 3W will have problems. The chassis will break on all the early cars if used. However Morgan fixed mine and others with no quibbles. The original compensators will fail eventualy! They dont even work on the Harley's they were designed for.
However it all depends on the milage you do.
The original 1mm wall thickness silencers will all fail eventualy.
All unvented cam belts will fail prematurely. However the spacer kit does work
Morgan have played fair with me but their coms are woeful.
I ve done all the mods and have now covered 18,000 miles; the last 12,000 without a problem. Well apart from the rear sprocket. But though worn badly is now quiet.
Would i do it again: yes absolutely.
