I agree with sentiments about the JAP badging, and really the rocker covers held on with allen screws, if not crosshead ones is way inappropriate too. Only screw head that is remotely appropriate here is a flat head.

There is nothing J.A.P. about it so why pretend it is something it is not. +1 Morgan or S&S but not this..

I find it hard to believe in today's performance world that people are using such long pipes on V-twins.
In drag racing where top end is king, pipes for this type of motor will be about 39" to 40" long without baffles. Any longer and the pulsed won't reach back to the heads and block off the out rush of incoming fuel charge and a loss in power will take place.
Now if the cams have been specifically designed for this length, it will help out, but even low end will suffer a lot with this length of pipes.
Also 2 into 1 exhaust increases performance over the entire torque range. But with the M3W it would be a bit difficult to incorporate a 2-1 system.
I remember a guy way back when I was a kid, he and his buddies rode Harley Sportsters. For Halloween one year they dressed up and they mocked up some very long pipes that shot up on the rear about 4 feet. I talked to him later and he said that when they added the extra 5 feet or so of piping he could hardly get out of his own way, it ran sooooo poorly.
Just thought I'd through it out for discussion.
Maybe it's not as important in the M3W.

I used to have one of their Jeeps but ended up replacing some Kahn bits with Jeep bits in the end ...

Maybe it's not as important in the M3W. Triking use a link pipe between the Moto Guzzi exhaust pipes which may have a similar effect as a 2 into 1 system. Hard to see how this could be incorporated into the M3W unless it looped in front of the cam belt cover (kind'a Aussie moustache style)?

How does the performance/handling/reliability of a Triking compare to an M3W I wonder?

PaulJ was looking at one I think before he bought the M3W.
I think the Guzzi motor is only 1100 or 1200cc though. I also understand that they are quite a bit lighter so that will help them out.
Back to the exhaust.
On a Sportster or other Dyna type twin exhaust systems, they always have a hidden equalizer pipe between the two main exhaust headers.
Even on my '09 touring bike, the header combines on the side and then splits back off into two tailpipe/mufflers etc.
On Harleys guys do like the true duals for sound, but for performance they always go back to some type of an "X" pipe to equalize the two pulses.

Whilst all your comments are noted, I should point out that the idea was one agreed with S&S and JAP as a nod to the history of the cars.
The JAP branding is used under licence from them and with their full support and whilst it may not be to everyone's taste, we do not see any ethical problems.
We are all entitled to our opinion and we appreciate your interest in the thread. We are trying to raise the profile of the 3wheeler and I guess all news is good news.
Hopefully see some of you today at TOTH.
Kind regards,
Jonathan Oakmere Morgan
