Hi all,
can anyone help locate a clutch cable for a Fiat 1600 1982 Mog? My normal source of spares believed the Ford one would fit however they are completely different.

I’m struggling to believe they manufactured a one off cable for this engine and gear box, just trying to find which part bin they raided for it so I can get the Mog back on the road for the great British summer.

Try taking it to a breakers. Decent ones are usually pretty good at identifying things like this.

CLUTCH CABLE FOR FIAT 131S MIRAFIORI 1.3,1.6 - QH QCC 1089

Is this the right one? It's on e-bay. If not it does seem a source of other Fiat parts.

Thanks Phil
That is a close match, the only issues is the connection at the gear box end is different.

Worth sending him a message on ebay to see if he has something

Have you tried Brands Hatch Morgan (Phil) or Melyvn Rutter. They'll know if not have one.

Otherwise post what you have to speedy cables and they can make a new one to suit.

Richard, tried Melyvn Rutter ( who have been excellent) and sadly the only option is to have one made.

Why not get in touch with a fellow mog owner or two who have the same mog, via the MSCC and see if they can help.

A Google Search on "Bespoke Clutch Cables" yielded:
http://www.venhill.co.uk
http://www.speedycables.com
http://www.rdb93.co.uk/

Worth some 'phone calls - but beware sending your broken cable off in the post - 20+ years ago my father sent a clock component off to some people and when he called by to see about the delay, the shop had collapsed into its cellar!

Good luck.
