Hi everyone, I'm in the process of buying a 4/4 or +4 and I'm trying to figure out the old style hood. The reason I liked the idea to have it as an option was that it appeared to me that it was easy to remove the old style hood completely and store it behind the seats? Leaving the car with no apparent hood when down. Is this the case... if not what is the old style hood about? thanks, G I had a loaner from BHM with the stud hood when my Roadster was being made, I had it for around a month. I do prefer the look, however it's such a marginal thing that I prefer the easy up for its convenience. I've never timed how long it takes to put up the easy up, but I think around one minute. The stud hood, once you've got the hang of it, is still a bit of a faff in comparison. Yes you can stow the stud hood behind the seats - It can fold up and is not substantial.

It would be nice to see an easy up hood that drops out of sight in the way that the hood does on the new Aero 8. I would not think it would be impossible. For me, this would be an ideal solution and surely not too difficult to MMC to engineer.

I have one of each ,one car currently in UK with trad hood and tonnea, one in Sweden with 'easy up'. We can actualy put the trad hood up quicker than the 'easy up' But the big difference is using the tonnea the one supplied with the easy up is completely impractical -completely unusable on a daily basis. How does one go shopping with an easy up ?cant cover up the shopping ? easy up transfers a roadster into a cabriolet. my hood is down 90 per cent of the time-

Yes Cain, but then not all of have the added luxury of a hard top for when we're feeling a bit wimpy, unlike yourself

I have only the trad style but a friend has the easy up on his roadster. It would seem that I can erect my trad hood as fast, if not faster than he can. Also, mine does come completely off and tucks away nicely behind the seat. I run with the back covered by the tonneau and it is a quick fix to cover the cockpit, for shopping, to keep the sun at bay, etc.
Cheers,
Mark

I really like the "visible" easy up hood when it's down. It's one reason I don't like the studded hood. Good job we're not all the same eh?
And at least we have a choice.

I'm not sure how a 'trad' hood could be quicker to put up. The easy up hood is just lifting over and two clips. The trad is fiddling with the frame and a dozen poppers. There's only one way to decide this.
