I'd go with what your instinct tells you.... if you love the look of the traditional hood, go for it.
There's a pal of mine who's bought more Morgans than I'll ever do and he's gone back to the old style hood. Just prefers the look. A 4/4 with the hood entirely removed is a pretty thing.

If you want to stay reasonably dry it's no contest easy up it is So many different experiences.....With former P4SS I had the old style hood. I stayed dry even during torrential rain. Now I enjoy the comfort of the easy up on my 4/4. Anyway I had no choice because she was ex demo. If there would be a "next one" whenever, I would go for the 9 stud old style, just because she looks so good. Beauty knows no pain. One additional experience I made, despite more "work", everytime when I fitted the 9 stud hood, it was a much nicer sensual touch and feel than handling the easy up.

Same as your pal Neil, I've gone back to the old style hood, but in mohair! You can't beat it for looks, up or down, but to my mind it's definitely not as convenient.

Wow thank you all for the answers... I have no idea what I'm going to do now... G Go with your heart - it's what Morgans are all about! If you are going with trad hood (rather than easy-up} fit a pair of hood swivels - makes hood erection much quicker!

I picked up some swivels on e-bay for Mr Bumble, having bid and won. When they arrived.........they came from John Gill's - previously a Morgan Dealer in North Yorkshire, complete with proper invoice. They must have been having a clear out.
