There are eight Aero Plus 8's on the MMC car locator as of today if anybody is wanting to 'move on up'.

P.S. seriously though regarding the original thread, and ignoring any subsequent contentious comments, congratulations to Worthers on his order and wishing him many happy miles. I am sure someone will be delighted with his old Trad 8 when he sells it.

Like Budster and many other 4/4 owners, I feel the model is the one with the most charm. The only thing which might tempt me to change would be a 4/4 anniversary - I love the revvy Sigma engine, but on a long journey a bit more torque would be appreciated. I bought my Mog as an alternative to something along the lines of an Austin Healey or a TR5 - not as a rival to a modern 911 or ferrari. If I were ever to buy an aero, it would be as well as a 4/4 and would have to be an aeromax. This reflects my personal taste in Morgans. I do however think that to describe Peter's delight in his new plus 8 as arrogance is a bit strong; he is clearly as enthusiastic about his car as I am of mine, and he is just being a bit evangelical about it. Don't let's fall out about this - the joy of TM is what a broad church it is.

Here here Pandy ...my own sentiment!
Enthusiasm is infective....and to be embraced...but needs to be tempered with words which others do not find uneasy.
Let's all play as friends on this fantastic site.

I have owned three Morgan's and each have been the 'best' when I have lived with them, obviously current one is the best ever even though it's not a 4/4, my first two were. The ability of an inaminate object, sorry Margot, to engender such passion and enthusiasm is why we all drive Morgan's. Whenever I have been with a group of Morgan owners its the shared madness that owning and driving such a car generates that binds us together not how much they cost or how fast they go. The written word can be interpreted in many ways but it's the cars that matter and everyone on this forum contributes because of that. We have all written emails, posts etc that have been interpreted in ways we may not have meant but if anyone has enthusiasm for their car that should be celebrated even though we will not agree, because our car is of course the ideal Morgan.

First of all, many congratulations to Worthers +8 on your new exiting car . I do however think that to describe Peter's delight in his new plus 8 as arrogance is a bit strong; he is clearly as enthusiastic about his car as I am of mine, and he is just being a bit evangelical about it. Don't let's fall out about this - the joy of TM is what a broad church it is. I could never put it better in own words. Very well said, Giles.

I'd have bought one but general opinion is that morgans are only for those who can't afford a Ferrari.............. I, momentarily, did the maths on a 599 instead of the Supersport but I couldn't get the numbers to stack up. If you buy a Ferrari you want something new enough to be covered by Ferrari's more recent service/warranty packs - ideally constantly extended in order to minimise costs. I was discouraged from owning an Aston Martin by a former owner who paid out 6,000chf for the front brakes on a DB9. Having had the Alpina brakes replaced before I bought the car with original items costing 2,400chf I may have inadvertently ended up in the same place!!

There are eight Aero Plus 8's on the MMC car locator as of today if anybody is wanting to 'move on up'. There are 9 now, as 18 August, one in France the rest in the UK. Two are 2015 cars, effectively "new"...but this: one really caught my eye. A stunning colour and well specified. I think the cars look better in a dark colour, rather than light and the matt silver one that was in the Williams showroom simply didn't do it for me.....

I have no regrets in buying my plus 8, but in my opinion it's currently the worst depreciating morgan ever. It will be interesting to see how they are valued in a few years time.

Indeed...you may be right: Time will tell.... Although no where near as bad as a modern tintop... 2013 BMW 320i M Sport, X Drive Touring new £42K, value at 2 years and 20,000 miles just £18.5K.....
